SPooNS

I detest spoons. I loathe spoons. I am completely and utterly grossed out by spoons. But, I haven't always felt this way about the beloved utensil. I used to use them like any other normal person. My hatred for this horrible creation started when I began paying attention to people using them. The spoon would go into their mouths, their lips would close around the thing and they would pull it back out. I could only picture all the nasty germies that remained and it made me NAUSEOUS. Ever since then I get super disgusted anytime I see someone using a spoon. I, myself, only use them when it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. And it just so happens that using a spoon is only ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY when you are having a bowl of cereal. As it turns out, you can successfully use a fork for things like: ice cream, soup, pudding, jello and applesauce. I am even considering to take cereal out of my diet altogether just so that I do not have to use a blasted spoon. And that, my friends, is why I hate spoons.

a long ride and new specs

here are some pics from our last 4-wheel ride in beautiful, scenic vernon, utah!

the ride from vernon to the outskirts of the dunes is about 35 miles round trip and i discovered that when riding that long my butt starts to hurt. but, it was fun and i think everyone had a good time.

we came across this little reservoir. it was small but serene and when we drove by in the morning the fish were jumping like crazy. this little waterfall was overflow from the reservoir.

oh yeah, i blogged about the new frames i got a while back so, check 'em out. do you likey??

i've got a funny story to share with you all...

tonight krista and mike (my sis and her guy:) came over because brandon is helping mike fix krista's 4-wheeler (it's like a never-ending process...but that's another blog altogether). so, i made spaghetti and garlic toast for dinner. (yes, for all those wondering, it turned out okay. i guess i can make stuff to eat if i absolutely HAVE to.) anyways, we were all sitting at the table eating and krista went to blow her nose. this seems like a normal bodily function that everyone has to do from time to time, right?!? well, not for my krista. she tried to blow her nose into her empty, kleenex free hands. say what?!?! yup, she wanted to launch those nasty, snot-covered boogers (uh, spell check??) into her hands. apparently this is part of her morning ritual in the shower and she is just so used to it that it has become a habit. but, i'm not judging i probably have weird rituals too. i just probably wouldn't blog about them...hmmm, maybe i will!

the sky is blue and all the leaves are green

here's a pic from dinner right before the britney show.

the real news is that i woke up today to some fantastic sunshine and blue skies. finally, some good weather. it feels so good after having lots of snow and rain. it's going to be 70 tomorrow which is perfect for our day-long 4-wheel ride.

another thing i realized as i got out of bed was that the cat had somehow gotten into the plastic bag with yarn and sample crochets that brandon's grandma recently gave me. aaaaagh! why does she insist on 1) chewing up plastic bags and; 2) chasing yarn around the house. i know that she just couldn't resist herself though so, i didn't yell at her. she is absolutely nutso about both of those things. kitty instincts/behaviors are so cute.

la dee da

i. am. bored. of course i have a million things to do, just don't want to do them. britney was awesome. she didn't sing many of the songs that i wanted her to though. and some weird guy sat next to my sister, which made her uncomfy. he was there alone and dancing with his eyes closed. plus, someone in our vicinity kept farting these raunchy, nasty, smells like poop farts. who does that??

i went to do my volunteer hours at Head Start today. ugh! can't wait until that's over. i've got just one more week. sometimes they can be so enjoyable. like today, they shared the play dough so well. but, sometimes they are so annoying!! at circle they were throwing things at each other. it's like wtf!?!? i can definitively say that i do not want to be an early childhood educator. i consider myself very patient but these kids wear my nerves raw. they can be very cute though. one time i was there we were discussing which of the disney princesses was our favorites. mine, of course, is sleeping beauty. i love the simplicity. it's so refreshing.

well, i'd better get to some of my stuff...

can't wait to go 4-wheeling on sunday!!

omg it's britney bitch

Krista and I are going to the Britney Spears concert tonight!! I bought the tix as a Christmas present to her...who am I kidding it was for me too! So, now it's 4 loooong months later and tonight is the night. I'm pretty certain that it's going to be awesome. We are meeting a couple of other girls for dinner and then on to the show. I'll be screaming and dancing along with all those little tweenies. Can't. Freakin'. Wait. Love her!

By the way, WiCKED was super awesome. Definitely one of my all-time favs. The songs were great and it was cool to see where it ties in with the Wizard of OZ. Way better than the book. I give it 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up:)

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Yeah, it's Easter! One of my favorite holidays. I love it because of the Christian meaning behind it and it usually means spending time with family. This Easter we won't be spending time with my side of the family for many different reasons (most of them due to how far away they are). So, we are doing the dinner thing at Brandon's grandma's place. But, not a minute before I go with some friends to see the musical Wicked. My friend waited outside, in line at 7 am this past January (yeah, January so it was really cold) for a few hours to get tickets and I'm so thankful that she did. Thanks Anne! For those of you who are wondering, Wicked is the story behind the Witches of Oz. It explains how Glenda became a good witch and how the Wicked Witch of the West became a bad witch. I recently read the book (even though I'm told it isn't really like the musical production) and I wouldn't recommend it. But, I'll have to let you know how the show goes. Although I'm sure it's fantastic. It has had great reviews and is very "popular." BTW, Popular is a song from the show:)

If I tell you something about me you have to promise you won't judge or make fun of me...Do you promise? Okay, I will be attending the Britney Spears concert on Tuesday. There. I said it. I admit to being a fan of her music and so is my lil sis. We will be singing and dancing along to the biotch herself. Too fun. A little known fact about Brandon-he has been to a Britney Spears concert. He "had" to take his little cousin...at least that's what he said. Riiiiight. A likely story.

On another note, I'm having 4-wheeling withdrawals this weekend. Because we had sooo much stuff going on we aren't going to be able to go riding. It's definitely for the better since I'm still a little broken from last weekend's incident (so is my 4-wheeler) and the weather has been sucking some major butt. Plus, we are planning a big, long ride next Sunday. I will just have to wait and hold in my excitement for another 7 days. I'll post pics I'm sure.

we're dunatics!

we went out to the dunes again yesterday with krista and mike. here is a list of things that went wrong. (krista, remind me if i've left anything out:)
  • krista's 4-wheeler is still broken (even after many, many man hours and lots of hope and prayers)
  • krista had to ride passenger or someone was left in the sand
  • krista hurt her finger on the ramps
  • brandon got stuck after driving up some crazy hill and mike could barely get up there to help him
  • mike's bike wasn't running "right"
  • mike ran out of gas (thank heavens for reserve tanks!!!)
  • krista and i saw some weird guy's bum bum
  • i got flippin' fiberglass slivers in my thumb and my pointer finger-2 different incidents (grrr, blasted safety flags)
  • i went up a really scary hill (at least in my opinion) and didn't realize there was a jump on the other side so, i landed on my handle bars
  • i have a couple of scrapes/cuts and am extremely sore today
  • my handle bars are now bent and the brake is twisted around
  • i tore my shirt and brandon ripped his pants
  • on the way home we were stuck behind some slowpokes for about 20 minutes
  • finally, since we left late, we got home late so, i missed the ACM awards and didn't get any laundry done.

overall, it was a great trip. you know how much you love something when you have a crappy day at it, but still don't want to leave and can't wait until the next trip. sorry no pics:(
