St. George

Here we are, ready to ride. Sad story: Krista's 4 wheeler didn't work so she had to ride with Mike. Sadder story: Brandon's fuel pump broke later so we were taking turns. Bummer:( BTW, what is wrong with this pic???? (Everyone is wearing their helmet but Mike.)

View of the Sand Hollow Reservoir from the dunes. The colors were so bright! The weather was perfect and scenery was beautiful. (Krista didn't realize I stopped to take a pic so she drove off. That black speck is her:)

SWSSF: SISTERS WHO SAY SAFETY FIRST!!! Check out the pink helmets. I just want you to know this is my first helmet and my first ride with it. I swear it took me about 20 minutes to get it on. It's such a process!

This pic was taken on my hike by Dixie Rock right behind St. George. There were huge red boulders and some caves and stuff. Really cool.
The trip was awesome but it went by too fast. We all had a great time even though we lost function in half of our 4-wheelers lol.

a fresh perspective

earlier this evening i was thinking about how soon this semester will be over and how unprepared i feel. i have got a tremendous amount of work and i think it might take more than 4 weeks to finish. but, then i thought, "in four short weeks i won't have to worry about homework or thesis or anything else." so, that's where i'm at. while the next month will be sheer hell, there is an end in sight and it is a lot closer than ever before:)

it's like a dream

so, i'm working at home on some school work and the television next to me is on. all of a sudden a breaking news flash interrupts programming. there is a serious natural gas leak on campus. they have evacuated some people in the vicinity...more to come. i checked my email to see if i had anything from school that said classes were cancelled. nope, nothing. so i got in the shower hoping for more news when i got out. nope, nothing. i called a friend of mine in my class and asked what she thought. she said i'd better get up to campus because we are probably going to have class. awww, i don't wanna!! (please read that in your most whiny voice). meanwhile, i get an email from my professor. my heart jumped for joy. i opened it up and yup, she cancelled class. WOOHOO!! now here i am wondering what the best way to fill the next 3 hours would be. any ideas?? it's not like i don't have 203,459,756 things to do, it's just that i'm feeling so free. i know that feeling is only temporary though and to keep regrets at bay i'm off to do some work:(

adventures in hiking

just a quick little posty post while i waste some time until i have to hitchhike back to salt lake. yes, i'm still in st. george. and yesterday while i was hiking back by Dixie mountain i walked past a little boy-hmmm i'd say around 3 or 4 years old. after i walked by he said, in a LOUD whisper, "mom, that's a big butt." i wasn't really paying attention and didn't quite hear what he said but then he shouted (maybe his mom didn't hear the whisper???), "MOM, THAT'S A BIG BUTT!!" well, damn. you're right kid, thanks for the reality check.

spring break!!!!

k party peeps, we're off to st. george. i wasn't sure this week would ever end and it's almost there. we're taking the four wheelers and yes, brandon finished his this time. he's ready to see what it can do in the sand. good thing our new helmets came yesterday. i'm so stoked because it's going to be WARM in So. Utah (the forecast says 70's this weekend and 80's next week). good times with good peeps in good weather. who could ask for more??

i'll be staying an extra few days by myself and plan to catch up on some school things while basking in the sun. hopefully working on my sunburn too. maybe i'll leave my sunglasses off so the fugly lines on the side of my face will fade some.
